# Security policy

> Report vulnerabilities privately and review the versions covered by the project security policy.

## Reporting a vulnerability

**Please do not report security vulnerabilities through public GitHub issues,
discussions, or pull requests.**

Instead, email **[hivenetrouter@antimatter.com](mailto:hivenetrouter@antimatter.com)** with:

* a description of the vulnerability and its impact,
* the affected component (router / agent) and version or commit,
* steps to reproduce (proof-of-concept, requests, or logs where possible).

You can also use GitHub's private **"Report a vulnerability"** button under the
repository's **Security** tab.

## What to expect

* We aim to acknowledge your report within **3 business days**.
* We will investigate, keep you updated on progress, and coordinate a fix and a
  disclosure timeline with you.
* Please give us a reasonable window to release a fix before any public
disclosure. We're happy to credit you in the release notes unless you prefer
  to remain anonymous.

## Supported versions

Hivenet Router is in active alpha development. Security fixes are applied to the
`main` branch and included in the next tagged release; we generally support the
**latest released version**. Older tags are not maintained.
